About the University
Stavropol State Medical University was founded in 1938. Since then, thousands of highly skilled
specialists working worldwide have graduated from the university, becoming a source of pride for the
institution. The University is located in the city of Stavropol – a large administrative, industrial,
agricultural, scientific, and cultural hub, often called the “Pearl of the South of Russia.”
Today, the University is among the most respected medical education and research centers in Russia.
It has 75 academic chairs, staffed by 97 Doctors of Sciences, more than 300 Candidates of Sciences,
47 Honoured Physicians of the Russian Federation, and 4 Honoured Scientists. Over 4,500 Russian and
international students from 33 countries are currently enrolled across 7 faculties. In 2010, the
university received full state accreditation.
Stavropol State Medical University is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and listed in
the World Directory of Medical Schools (WHO). Graduates are eligible to practice medicine worldwide
after passing the respective national licensing exams. The university has earned numerous international
awards, including “The European Quality,” the Kannes Silver Medal, and the title “Flagman of XXI Century.”
Facilities include 7 computer classes, a modern library with 500,000 books, its own publications,
and the “Medicus” newspaper. Students also enjoy 4 hostels, a sports complex with a swimming pool,
gyms, sauna, and even a seaside camp on the Black Sea coast.
Eligibility
- Successful completion of higher secondary school.
- For post-graduate studies: Completion of tertiary education.
- Minimum 65% marks in higher secondary school including English (English language proof may be required).
- Fulfillment of payment conditions.
Admission Process
To apply for admission to Stavropol State Medical University, applicants must submit the following
documents to the Admissions Office via email:
- Copy of the first 4 pages of your International Passport
- Copy of higher secondary school certificate
- Completed application form
- Payment receipt for invitation/visa processing fees
Based on these documents, the University issues an invitation letter approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
for visa processing. Upon arrival, students must provide original educational certificates attested by the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs or with an Apostille.
