ninth largest in the world. It dominates Central Asia economically, thanks to its oil, gas, and
mineral resources. The country has a diverse landscape, from steppe to mountains, and shares borders
with Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. The capital is Astana.
