ASTANA MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
On October 26, 1964 the Council of Ministers of the Republic adopted a resolution on the opening of a medical institute in the city of Tselinograd. In 1997, the institute was reorganized into the academy, and from January 2009 it reached the status of the University. Astana Medical University is located in Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan. AMU is leading and one of the biggest medical universities of Kazakhstan. It has higher reputation in the field of medical education and in development of medical science and clinical activities. University has seven faculties Internal Medicine, Public Health, Dentistry, Nursing, Preventive Care, Pharmacy, Postgraduate Education, and Additional Medical Education. Currently there are approx. 5185 students, 219 residents, 90 master and doctoral students in AMU. Its 68 departments are powered by 873 teachers: 112 Doctors of Medical Science, 280 Candidates of Medical Science, 62 Professors, 67 Associate Professors. The university realizes postgraduate preparation on 29 specialities of residency, 4 specialties of master programme, and 2 specialties of PhD doctoral degree.

Semey State Medical Academy
Semey Medical University was established in 1953 with the opening of medical faculty, who were enrolled the first 320 students. All the years of the existence of high school graduates began more than 25 thousand people who are working successfully in Kazakhstan and abroad. Including 3 of academician, deputies of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, 6 people worked rectors of medical schools, 14 heads of regional health departments and other prominent figures of science and practice.
